Mentha Piperita Oil

Mentha Piperita Oil

Peppermint oil is extracted by steam distillation from the dried herb of Mentha piperita. It grows in the traditional 'Mint Regions' of India, which are the northern areas (U.P & Punjab) of the country. Peppermint has a wide variety of uses across many sectors but is most commonly seen in products such as teas, candy, chocolate, aromatherapy, oral care, chewing gums and insect repellents.
Peppermint is also known for its health benefits including the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome and other digestive complaints.

Mentha Arvensis Oil

Mentha Arvensis Oil

Peppermint Arvensis is known for it high content of menthol, so high in fact, that menthol crystals form on the surface of the leaves. There are several species of this perennial herb that can grow to 1 meter in height, spreading due to their underground runners. Peppermint has hairy leaves with serrated edges and purple spiked flowers.

Spearmint Oil

The Essential Oil of Spearmint is extracted by steam distillation of flowering tops of the spearmint plant, whose scientific name is Mentha Spicata. Its aroma is different to that of peppermint, due to the presence of L Carvone,however, its menthol content is negligible as compared to that of peppermint oil.

Mentha Citrata Oil

Mentha Citrata Oil

Bergamot Mint (Mentha citrata) essential oil, sometimes called Lemon Mint, Citrus Mint or Eau de Cologne Mint, is steam distilled from the flowering tips of the perennial herb. Mentha citrata is a natural hybrid of Water Mint (Mentha aquatica) and Spearmint (Mentha spicata), growing up to 45cm high, with green serrated leaves and lilac flowers that appear from mid to late summer.
Bergamot Mint essential oil has a fresh, citrus (Bergamot-like) aroma with gentle minty, herbal undertones. This oil acts more interesting in the lavender-fougere field as well.
Although belonging to the mint family, Mentha citrata oil contains only 1-2% menthol and small traces of cineole, making it far gentler and less intense than other mint oils.
